Volvo 70 Kraken
I joined the boat in Sardegna as delivery crew to go to Gibraltar.
It has been a real pleasure to step onboard with Claire and Lance who both are very experience sailors. You get to do everything on the boat if you wish too, from driving to hoisting the spinnaker and much more… Lance is very patient, very calm and a very good teacher. He would answer all of your questions if you feel like you wanna know the boat upside down.
Claire is in charge of the navigation and comes up on deck when needed for technical gybs and other maneuvers.
Plus she is the one that make the good vibe on the boat as she’s always laughing.
On the top of that they take care of you so well all along the trip, the vibe onboard was really nice. Everything is taken care of for you, from food provisioning, meals onboard, foulies… everything is ready when you jump onboard, so literally there to enjoy and sail this beautiful VOR70.
You would go from one place to another very safe and sound and will enjoy everything of it.
Definitely an experience I would come back for.
Sunset Cruise NO1 SXM by Lisa Green
We went on a family vacation in June 2019 and stayed in Simpson Bay for a week. The absolute highlight of our stay was our sunset cruise with Sail Race Crew.
Our hosts were a lovely couple who were both expert sailors and very knowledgeable about the island. They served us cocktails and appetizers and made sure everyone had a great time.
We highly recommend you take this trip.

St.Maarten Heineken Regatta with Challenger
I’ve done four events from day racing in St.Maarten to Atlantic crossing. Every event was absolutely fantastic. Spartan is very well organized, the boats are in excellent condition and sailing with Chris just truly amazing. His skills as a sailor as well as a teacher, the way he runs the boat and organizes the crew are outstanding. And due to his experience and condition of the boat it always feels absolutely safe. Hope to be on board many more times. – Philipp
ARC onboard Volvo 60 Challenger
I have had the good fortune to sail with Chris on 2 occasions, one of them being the RORC inaugural Trans Atlantic Race. Would I do it again – Absolutely! Chris is the consummate sailor – optimizing boat speeds but with crew safety the overriding policy. He will give you the confidence to skipper your own boat better, and if you don’t own a boat – the desire to get one! -Gerry
Newport Bermuda Race onboard Challenger
“Helming that sea stallion at 20 kts in the middle of the night, holding my route by aiming for a star, while fluorescent plancton were illuminating the bridge, THAT will be my best sailing memory!”
RORC Caribbean 600
Racing with the competitive “big boy” fleets on premier races is a definite thrill I would not otherwise experience. Shifts sailing in the mid to high teens for hours on end is thrilling and rekindles the love of making boats go fast.
Antigua Sailing Week onboard Challenger
Challenger is an incredible experience for new and experienced sailors. An awesome boat to meet new people and share a grand race or adventure.
There is simply nothing better than messing around in boats and Challenger is a really neat boat to mess around in.
Sailing onboard Volvo 60 Challenger
Sailing with Chris is an enriching experience. He provides a safe environment, without taking the challenging edge off the sailing, to expand your skill level and is always willing to take the time to explain something more than once. Being on board Challenger was a real treat and the atmosphere on board was perfect to enjoy the days away from work. – Simon
Sailing with CSM
Chris is the type of guy that you want to have among your friends, generous about his passion, helpful, and with an amazing sense of humour. He is a sailing mentor. Now if he could speak French he would be perfect! – Eric
Caribbean 600 2014 onboard Challenger
I have sailed on the Great Lakes, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Caribbean Sea for my entire life. In this time, I have had the wonderful opportunity to sail with some really great people; sailors who know far more than me.
However, the unique experience I gained when sailing with Chris Stanmore-Major in the 2014 Caribbean 600 was something I will never forget. Here I met a man, many years my junior in life, but so far ahead of me in his experience and knowledge of the sea that I was truly blown away. I learned more in a week with CSM than I ever thought possible… – Brent.
