St.Maarten – Bahama’s – Saint Petersburg, 14-26 March 2020, 1500 Nm
This is a fantastic opportunity to make the iconic trip between ‘The Islands’ and the US Mainland on our Volvo 60 ‘Challenger’ a type of boat you just don’t normally get to sail on.
Rather than having to spend years & 10’s of thousands of dollars prepping your own boat join us in March as we relocate Challenger from St. Maarten to Saint-Petersburg, Florida. St. Maarten is a vibrant bustling Caribbean melting pot of two distinct international flavours- one-half French and one-half Dutch. This creates a fantastic opportunity to not only soak up the sun but also touch base with the cuisine and style from two mother nations that are literally an ocean away.
As we head North we will take just one stop into Paradise Island in the Bahamas to get a taste of the jet-set high life and see the wonders of the islands world-famous aquarium but other than that it’s going to be open water sailing all the way and a hands-on opportunity to get to grips with one of these fantastic Round the World race boats.
Although we can’t promise anything when it comes to the weather the usual weather pattern for this time of the year and geographic location is fair breezes, warm water and warm winds which means fantastic reaching conditions for us- basically, this is as good as it gets on a sailboat! It also means in these steady conditions there will be plenty of time to get lots of one on one time with your skipper and take your sailing to the next level.
Our final destination puts the whole of North America at your fingertips whether that means a domestic plane ride home or the beginning of another adventure.
We cover all costs while on the boat, including training, dockage, diesel, food, damage waiver and crew safety gear.
Fair breezes, warm water and warm winds which means fantastic reaching conditions for us with a stop at the Bahama’s.
With training and the travel, you arrange, this 1500 Nm route will be all done and dusted in just 12 days.
